There's a better day out there.
Unconvinced that anything can change this day, you frustratedly lace up your trainers, telling yourself, at least every damn step I take is going to work out every damn muscle I have.
And somewhere between wanting to stamp your feet through the floor and the music coming to an end, irritation has evaporated. Back in the world, traffic lights and absent elevators are now welcome moments to think big thoughts. Like what don't I do that more often. Stars are another check mark on a list of good things you've done for yourself today. Long meetings are a chance to reflect on how well your day is going. Slow service gives you a chance to appreciate the slice of sun you see breaking through the clouds. You may not control the clock, but you're in control of your own destiny. You can roll with the punches and still make it all happen.
And then it dawns on you that your master plan is definitely going to need to include more workouts, wherever you can squeeze them in.
